christmas break reading list

Over the Christmas break last year, I challenged myself to finish reading five or more books in a span of almost a month before school started again. It was quite challenging for me already since I am not a fast reader when it comes to books or novels. I also got sick for more or less a week wherein I didn’t read at all. It just felt so accomplishing to be able to finish all five a few days before my so-called deadline.

I didn’t have a particular reading list when I started the challenge. Well, I do now, but they were all kind of a spur-of-the-moment picks at that time. I have already mentioned some if not all in my Sunday Currently volumes. Among the five, I read three e-pubs and two actual books. Anywho, here are the books that kept me company throughout my Christmas vacation.

Hey guys, I’m back (ish). Sorry, I know it’s been a while since I last posted my Sunday Currently volume. I’ve been pretty freaking busy with school lately. It’s thesis proposal term, that’s why the pressure is on us right now. Just like one professor of mine said, it’s a baptism of fire. Ugh, I didn’t really think this term would be as heavy as my previous one. It’s one subject… but it’s pretty much everything right now. Wish us so much luck, we’re really going to need it.

Since I don’t have classes tomorrow, I decided to take the day off from acads. I spent my day attending to the needs of my girly girl self – eyebrow threading, make-up, you know. Since the proposal my group presented got rejected last Saturday, taking a breather felt like it was necessary. My brain feels like it’s been dried up, it has to be brought back to its regular condition. Hahahahuhu.

Happy 19th to me! Yep, another year older and hopefully another year wiser. I celebrated it on Tuesday, one pretty long day in school. It’s my last teenage year, oh gosh, I wonder how I’m going to spend it. I guess I’ll figure that out as I go on my way.

As for Sunday hits, I had my breakfast at Coffee Bean a while ago. It was their open house, so yay for a free drink! More yay since it’s free coffee, and much more yay since it’s a frappe. It was my first frappe for the year and it was free. Hihihi. Frappes are actually one of my guilty pleasures. Anyway, I particularly love the featured flavor: Vanilla Almond. I don’t know if it’s just me, but almond-flavored anything kind of tastes like cherries. I love cherries, so go figure. Hahaha!

blank spaces

I was de-cluttering my stuff inside my cabinet when I came across my collection of notebooks. Most of them were still blank, some of them only has the first few pages with writings. Well, I like collecting notebooks especially the cute ones. Whatever kind of paper, as long as it’s cute, it’s fine with me.

But that’s the problem, sometimes. I don’t want to write on those notebooks because they’re too cute. It feels as if I’m just going to ruin the notebook with my ugly handwriting. Thus, the blank notebooks. I believe I’m not the only girl with that dilemma. Feels, right? Hahahuhu.

For me, school started again last Wednesday. It was the first day of the second term of my junior year in college. Have classes already started for you guys, too? How was your first week? Mine was fine, I guess. It was actually great, my classes and my teachers were pretty good so far. Of course, the discussions were just chill – classroom policies, syllabus, early dismissals, etc. If only it could stay that way. Ha ha ha ha, just kidding. Anyway, school wasn’t the reason why my first week of classes just ended up being ‘fine’ instead of ‘great’. My brain is just pretty confused.

However, my brain’s not the only body part that’s confused. I spent my Sunday going to bookstores, scanning books to find the next read. Apart from spending my time in the Young Adult or Teen Fiction section, I also spent time reading in the Relationships section. I don’t know, I wasn’t intending to read there, it just kind of happened once I passed by that section. So, uhm… okay? Interesting insights. Ha ha ha ha.

2015 in transit

Processed with VSCO with b5 preset

A lot could happen in a course of a day, what more in a span of twelve months? Looking at it now, 2015 was one hell of a ride. Compared to the prior year I had, 2015 had more thrills to it. I don’t know if thrill is the right term, but since I have already used an indirect comparison to a roller-coaster ride so might as well. So, what did happen in 2015?

Due to the sentimentality of yours truly, I decided to take a trip down on memory lane and revisit all the notable experiences I had in the past year.

Hola 2016! Wow, the first Sunday Currently for the year. I wasn’t able to post for last week because I was sick. Yeah, sad life, I got sick the day after Christmas. Ha ha ha ha. I was just stuck at home until New Year’s Eve, it was a good timing actually, at least I could already go out on New Year itself.

As for Sunday, I just spent it watching MMFF entries with my family. Have you watched some of the entries? We watched Beauty and the Bestie and All You Need Is Pag-ibig today. They’re both pretty okay. BATB made me laugh, what you usually expect from Vice Ganda. Meanwhile, AYNIP made me cry though it’s not a heavy drama movie. I found it relatable, okay? I’m guilty about that, especially some parts from Jodi’s arc and some from Kim’s arc.

rainy day, don’t care

20151214_132248-01

Finally! It was our first adventure out of the city throughout my stay in college. Last December 14, my friends and I went to trip down South as my best friend treated us for her 18th birthday last November. Due to conflicts and whatsoever, there was only the four of us. We decided to go to Tagaytay first, then head to Enchanted Kingdom after. We went on a trip hoping that the gloomy weather would cooperate with us, since there was a storm in our midst. Well, it did. Somehow.

Today’s the Sunday before Christmas week! 5 more days, then it’s Christmas! Are you guys already feeling it? I mean, aside from experiencing heavier traffic on the roads and longer lines in malls or hearing Christmas songs and jingles almost everywhere you go. I hope we don’t fail to realize the true essence of Christmas.

I just spent my usual Sunday finding romance pocket books in book sales and going to bazaars. The mall’s pretty crazy lately, it’s really crowded with a lot of people! Good thing I’m already done buying my gifts for my friends and family so I didn’t quite join in on the cramming this holiday season.

beat of my heart: #HUGOT Playlist

In almost all of my The Sunday Currently volumes, I have mentioned listening to my Spotify music library. Well, I’ve been a fan of Spotify lately. I only listen to the songs on my phone whenever I’m out of the house since I am not a premium user.

I listen to songs depending on my mood. I’m a type of person that’s very particular with her playlist. During the times I feel sad or heartbroken, I tend to add more insult to the injury by listening to songs that sound like how I’m feeling. To lessen the hassle of skipping or choosing songs, I decided to create a playlist for it.
